Dream Apartment

I wish my apartment looked like any of these rooms. But I should probably work on just keeping it as clean as these rooms, that would probably help.

I Found Treasure

I am currently loving the work of artist Treasure Frey, her pieces are simply enchanting.

If I Only Knew Korean

Lately I've really been enjoying perusing the fashion spreads of Korea's version of Teen Vogue. The photography and styling are always really fun.

Dave Lauridsen

Dave Lauridsen is a California based photographer whose work I find quite intriguing. I also like the fact that he only got into photography because a girl he liked was taking a photography class in college.

Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre

I always appreciate a healthy amount of irreverence in art or design, I think that is why I like Wilhelm Staehle's work so much.

Funnel

Eric Kass of Funnel has been one of my favorite graphic designers since I was in school, he has an exquisite eye for color and he uses a lot of letterpress and texturing that makes his work very tactile. He also makes and sells his own beautiful gift paper designs.

Merry Christmas

I used to really dislike PDA, maybe it made me uncomfortable, but it has slowly grown on me to the point where now I feel a little lucky to catch someone kissing in public. Of course there's an obscenity line that most people don't want to see crossed, but I feel somehow connected to humanity when I see two strangers involved in such a tender and vulnerable moment, like a got a small little peak into their life. So hopefully these pictures will put a smile on your face and maybe make you feel just a little closer to humanity this Christmas.

Dreams of India

Every year around this time I start really craving travel. Maybe it's because it is currently -7 degrees in the fair state of Wisconsin, but I also think it's a need to escape, not only the cold but the never-ending grays and whites, and the claustrophobic feeling of hibernation. Currently I wish I was in India, standing amidst it's exuberant colors, and eating a really spicy curry.

A Look Only You Would Understand

Ashley G. has a simply sweet illustration style that is surprisingly emotional. In her own words the characters in her work are "humorous, empathetic, and a little bit pathetic." I also love her use of color.

Smile

This just makes me happy!

The Small Stakes

I am a huge fan of Oakland poster designer Jason Munn of The Small Stakes, he has a restrained style that definitely stands out among the majority of todays over-designed, chaotic band posters. I also can't help but be a little proud of the fact that he is originally from my home state of Wisconsin. You can check out more of his work on the Small Stakes website, where he has a poster shop! or if you like you can also check out an interview he did with grain edit.

Style Inspiration

Maybe it's just my inner Francophile speaking, but I have always had a soft spot for the androgynous styling and impeccable taste of Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Pretty Planning

Since I'm trying to be more organized and it's almost the New Year, I thought I would post some calendars that have caught my eye recently.
