Packagaholic

I'm not a big drinker but I often find myself drooling over packaging for alcoholic beverages which almost always leads me to debate my drinking habits, if I bought spirits every time I liked the package, I think it might be cause for concern. I haven't gotten to that point yet but this recent lust worthy packaging brings me one step closer. Designed by Chicago based graphic designer Kyle Poff.

Jouke Bos

I'm really taken by the striking images of Dutch based fashion photographer Jouke Bos. He does over the top in such a fresh way. The stylists and make-up artists he's working with are obviously very talented as well.

Jennifer Davis

Jennifer Davis is another Minnesota based artist that is currently being featured in the Flourish show at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. I love her paintings because of her expert use of color and intriguing hidden imagery. Definitely go check out this show if you get a chance.

Inspiring Kitchens

I am an avid home cook, and the kitchen is by far the room I utilize the most. That's probably the reason I fantasize about dream kitchens the most, also more then any other room, in my opinion, it has to blend form and function so seamlessly. The kitchens below in my opinion do that with aplomb.

Japanese Food Styling

I am smitten by with these images of Japanese food styling. It's so intriguing how even with their food the japanese are so elegantly simple and structured, also the fact that I could probably not identify half of the dishes peaks my adventurous spirit, I wish I could try them all. You can see more from this particular stylist (who's name I couldn't read because it was in Japanese) here.

Amy Adams

These images by Brooklyn based photographer Amy Adams are so striking. They also have a very old-world, dramatic quality to them which is impressive because Amy is only 24. A recent grad of the School of Visual Arts, she states on her website that she is currently working on a "series of projects that mix photography with mad science" which sounds like an amazing project, I can't wait to see more of.

Salon Modern Branding

I am so in love with the branding design for Salon Modern by Twin Cities based design firm Studio MPLS. It is so refreshing and fun but nostalgic at the same time. And the way they carried over the brand look into collateral pieces and the interior is really well done.

Erika Olson Gross

I'm quite taken by the work of Minneapolis based artist Erika Olson Gross, the marrying of graphite drawing and colorful patterns is really innovative, and helps to make it less precious. Also anybody who might be in the Minneapolis area sometime before January 2nd, Erika's work is included in the Flourish show at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Orange Interiors

I am a huge fan of orange, so much so, that in high school I painted my bedroom tangerine with cobalt accents, it was a little over the top. But recently with the changing leaves and cozier weather I've been obsessing over rooms that successfully add a little citrus color, without overwhelming a room, or looking like you just got done decorating for Halloween.

A Dreamy Day

I'm currently obsessed with the engagement and wedding photos by Max Wanger, he creates such dreamy and fun images, they are romantic but not saccharine, which is hard to pull off.

Default

I always find that I gravitate towards packaging that succesfully utilizes a print and these labels from Bangkok based default design are the perfect example.
