Red Interiors

Red can sometimes be a cliche color in a room, specifically the dining room, and you have to make damn sure you want it red for awhile because it can be more then a little tedious to repaint. But when done right, or in little accents, it can really add just the right amount of passion to a space. Be careful not to over do it though because in studies, people you spent time in red only rooms were found to have increased heart rates and breathing.

Mike Lowery

Illustrator Mike Lowery seems to have the perfect life, not only does he create fantastically fun images but he lives in a cottage in the woods and teaches illustration at Savannah College of Art & Design! Sounds like a pretty cool dude to me. You should also check out his shop here.

Color Combo: Pink & Tangerine

Nothing is more summery or happier then the color combo of pink and orange, it's so intensely bright I just can't help but smile. Although it can be overwhelming to attempt this look, I strongly recommend it.

Recipe Review: 4th of July Meal

I'm assuming many of you are getting together with friends and family this weekend to celebrate 4th of July and the 2nd best way to do that (after fireworks) is to eat a scrumptious, summery picnic style meal. So I put together my idea of the perfect weekend bbq meal. (recipe links below images)

Taylor Black Identity

I'm positively enchanted by these feminine, vintage florals business cards, designed for jewelry brand Taylor Black London, by Interabang.

Smitten List

Smitten List time! A round-up of things I'm coveting or smitten with. Sometimes there will be a theme, or it will be more gift focused and other times it will just be things I'm super crazy about that week. (links below image)

My Nuptials: Flowers

The problem I'm having with the flowers is every time I think I've found exactly what I want, I couldn't possible imagine anything better, I come across a new image or inspiration that blows that whole theory out of the water. Not to mention trying to source my flowers locally and sustainably, it's kind've turning into one of the most difficult tasks. Below are some of my current favorite looks, as you can probably tell they are kind've all over the place, color and theme wise, the only thing I know for sure is that I want them to have a very organic free form feel. But really who's knows because next week I'll probably want something completely different.

Pining for Paul

I'm running a little bit behind on my blog posting today, but don't worry the Monday wedding inspiration post will be going up later this afternoon. For now here's some simple eye candy, it really just doesn't get any better then this. via pinterest

How sweet are these instant comfort pocket boxes from Illustrator Kim Welling. With phrases like "You look wonderful today" and "everything will be ok" they could provide the perfect pick me up for a sweetheart or friend, and you can buy them on etsy. It would be fun to come up with your own as well.

Summer Recipe Suggestions

So I haven't been doing my normal recipe reviews lately because I just haven't been in the mood to cook, what with the heat and humidity. All I really want to do is eat fresh berries, fruits and veggies, which is good but not great for blog posting. So I was wondering what do you guys like to make in the summer? salads, grilling, popsicles or do you just eat ice cream all day, like Travis does? which is really unfair because he also never seems to gain any weight. I'd love to hear your suggestions below. image via Design Love Fest

Marija Strajnic

I think I have an unhealthy obsession with grainy, blurry photography, what is it about them that make me feel like I'm peering into a window of someones life? They have such a personal nature, as if it was a mistake made and I shouldn't be seeing them, they are off limits. This is exactly what I love about the work of Marija Strajnic, I feel like she is telling me a secret just by looking at her photographs, and it's just between me and her, even though I know this is not the case.

Method Homes

Pre-fab homes kind've have a negative connotation, but if you've flipped through the back section of any Dwell magazine in the past few years you know they now come in some pretty amazing iterations. The units designed by Seattle based Method Homes are no exception. Sustainably built and expertly designed these homes definitely make me rethink pre-fab.

Erdem Resort 2012

I'm obsessed with Erdem's resort collection. The use of watercolor floral prints, crushed berry hues and intricate lace is just all together perfection.
