Smitten List

Smitten List time! A round-up of things I'm coveting or smitten with. Sometimes there will be a theme, or it will be more gift focused and other times it will just be things I'm super crazy about that week. (links below image)

Dreams of Relaxation

I've been so busy and stressed lately all I want to do is take some time out to read and daydream. images via pinterest

Sean Freeman

I'm a huge fan of the typography work of London artist Sean Freeman, so organic.

Have A Nice Day

Using found imagery, Taiwanese artist Jennis Li Cheng Tien creates digital artwork with a painterly effect, by distorting the original image with filters, collage and manipulations. I love the end product especially the yellow figure.

My Nuptials: Inspiration

I'm in love with every detail of this wedding. Her dress, which she purchased for $100! The night time outdoor reception that is reminiscent of a Midsummers Night Dream. The beautiful, non-traditional cake display. Her adorable haircut, and of course just how much they clearly love each other. Swoon! via 100 Layer Cake

Chinti & Parker Fall 2011

I love the classic knits with a whimsical twist from Chinti & Parker's Fall line. Perfect for a fall day outside. I also love this brand because they are committed to being ethical and carbon neutral, hurray!

Chalkboard Walls

I love the idea of chalkboard walls, especially in large open spaces where it can act more as utilitarian artwork. It's also a natural addition in a kitchen or child's room. So many options!

Style Inspiration: Burnt Orange

Nothing says Fall quite like a really nice deep orange. As the leaves start slowly turning I start craving cozier fall tones, below are some of my favorite inspirations.

Steve Jobs

I very rarely feel a connection, or loyalty to a brand, as hard as advertisers work to get customers to only buy their product, there really is only one that I have been dedicated too, which of course is apple. And a big reason for this is Steve Jobs. When I was in graphic design school I bought my first apple 13" macbook, it was my prize possession, so small and beautiful. I would spend hours on that tiny little screen kerning type and laying out images, and in the process fell in love with design. There were, of course, many things that contributed to my love of design but Apple provided one of my most important tools and for that I am grateful. Steve Jobs will be sorely missed and not just because of the products he brought to us, but because of his vision, his creativity and his love of turtlenecks! R.I.P. Steve!

How Strange

I love the type and I love the sentiment. via wasting away

Lu Cong

I'm mesmerized by the unsettling and intimate portraits done by Denver based artist Lu Cong. Portraiture can often seem stale, but his style is so beautiful and new with slightly creepy undertones.
