Picture Perfect Holidays with FUJIFILM INSTAX® + A Giveaway

Something about the dropping temps and changing leaves always makes me want to get crafty and tackle new DIY projects. Which is why I am so excited to be partnering with FUJIFILM INSTAX® to create some fun Holiday inspired DIY projects. Each one of these are so easy, you really don't need to be a crafting or DIY pro. Jennifer Young Studio x Good on Paper 2015 Calendar

Two of my favorite ladies, designer Lisa Wong Jackson and photographer Jennifer Young have teamed up to create a stunning calendar just in time for holiday gifting. I'm always in need of a good calendar and this one is so perfect it is sure to keep me inspired all year long.

Annija Muižule

The other day, Travis and I were discussing how one of the few things we really miss from Wisconsin are the big summer thunderstorms. The heavy grey sky and sound of rain pelting the windows and roof would create the perfect cozy sanctuary inside. These images by Latvian photographer, Annija Muižule, capture a little bit of that same feeling, which I think is one of the reasons why I'm so drawn to Annija's work in general. Her work creates that nostalgic moody softness that I want to surround myself with sometimes, just before wanting the sun to come out.

Laurent Chehere

When I came across the Flying House series by French photographer Laurent Chehere, I instantly fell in love. Each image is so intriguing and whimsical, and I can't help that it reminds me a little bit of the movie Up :)

New Rue + Rue Cooks Feature

Hooray! Today is the launch of Rue's first ever Pacific Northwest issue. The day an issue launches is always an rewarding one but this time I'm extra excited because I got to team up with the amazing Eva Kolenko on our Rue Cooks feature this month. Below are a few outtakes from our fun day making bagels and lox. Make sure to read the issue to see the whole story and get the recipe.

Andrew Gallo in Iceland

I've been fascinated with Iceland for some time now, whenever I see photos it always looks like a magically beautiful country. So when I saw the most recent series of images from Director Andrew Gallo, I couldn't get enough.

Geneviève Bjargardóttir

I can't get enough of the moody imagery of Swedish photographery student Geneviève Bjargardóttir. Her work reminds me of old National Geographics. They have a beautiful, slightly vintage, nostalgic feel that I love.

Mini Escape: Stinson Beach and Coastal Drive

On New Years day the hubby and I decided to take off on a mini escape to the coast north of the city. It was a beautiful day and there were so many people out also enjoying the first day of the year at the Stinson beach, it could not have been better. We also stopped off in Mill Valley to grab a quick bite to eat at Toast, which I highly recommend, the perfect diner lunch post New Year's Eve. Below are a few of my favorite snap shots of the day.

smart car advent calendar

I always love seeing brands try something new or interesting when promoting their products and that's exactly what smart car is doing this holiday season with their Holiday advent calendar. In colloboration with famed food photographer René Riis they created 24 traditional holiday meals from around the globe with their logo hidden within. Such a fun idea and I especially loved Portugal's meal (seen below)

Friday

The news today is just so sad I don't even have words, except to express my deepest sympathies to the families in Connecticut. I leave you for the weekend with this beautiful photo by Jennifer Young.

Happy Friday + Chronicle Books Giveaway

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has amazing weekend plans. The weather here has been stormy and wet so I will probably just be cozied up in my apartment most of the weekend, which I'm kind've looking forward to. And now it's finally time to announce the winner of the Chronicle Books giveaway. Congratulations Emily R. you have won the amazing book bundle!! Thanks everyone for entering.

And now I leave you with this beautiful image by Blue Algae Creative.

Happy Mundane in Hawaii

As many of you probably know I'm a huge fan of anything Jonathan Lo of Happy Mundane does, I just feel lucky to call him a friend. He recently took a trip to Hawaii and I've been obsessed with his instagram photos from the trip, so I wanted to share here. I think I need a vacation :)

Nick Frank: Mira

I initially became aware of Nick Frank's bright and geometric Mira series via the always inspiring pinterest page of Victoria Smith of sfgirlbybay. I was instantly enamored by how he documents the colorful urban architecture of Munich. Now I really want to visit, don't you?

Free People's Harvest Moon Lookbook

Dutch model Cato Van Ee looking stunning in Free People's latest lookbook. Shot by Anna Palma, she captured the bohemian earth goddess look perfectly. Kind've makes me want to go stomp around in the woods in the middle of the night, but I doubt I would look as fierce as Cato.
