Our Wedding Album

I'm so excited to finally share a few of the images from our wedding, shot by the amazing Kate Skogen, she perfectly captured the day and the feeling of joy we both had. I also want to give an extra thank you to my sister who designed the textiles for the napkins and banners, and my mom who sewed them all. I really couldn't have done it without all the amazing support and help I had that week and the day of. Another major star of the day that I want to mention was my gorgeous BHLDN dress, which floated and fluttered so beautifully in the wind and was the perfect dancing dress (stay tuned fora little BHLDN surprise later this afternoon). Everything came together perfectly and now without further ado, our wedding day album.

Wedding Sneak Peek

I usually don't post on Sundays, but now that the haze of wedding week has dissipated I wanted to share just a little sneak peek from our beautiful day. I will be sharing more photos by our amazing photographer Kate Skogen in the next week or two but here's just a little snippet from the day in beautiful Tilden park with my BHLDN dress blowing in the wind. So happy at this moment. I also wanted to thank all of my dear friends for filling in for me on the blog! I could not have done it without every single one of you.

Guest Post: Something Blue with Erin Hiemstra

Hi Friends, Erin from Apartment 34 here. Since Maia is off joining the ranks of the blissfully wedded, I thought I'd share a little nuptial inspired round up with you. You know the rhyme, something old, something new, something borrowed...

bag, sandal, blazer, quote, ring, scarf

I couldn't resist throwing a little marriage advice in there as well - I'm so excited to welcome Maia to the old married ladies club!

Three cheers to the happy couple

My Nuptials: Details

Believe it or not it's a little more then 3 weeks until the wedding!! I'm kind've freaking out with everything that still needs to get done. Right now it's really down to the details, like finalizing the flowers and the place settings and cake toppers. Below are a few images that are inspiring me as I make my final decisions. For those of you that are married, what were the final weeks like before your big day? I'd live any advice or just fun stories.

Happy Friday + Link-o-rama

I can't believe it's already Friday again! This week has zoomed by, starting with the Good Morning America interview on Monday and ending with non-stop wedding planning. This shindig is fast approaching guys!! I hope I can slow down a little bit this weekend and enjoy my labor day weekend, but with all the little details for the wedding that need to get done, that seems unlikely. Below, catch up on what you may have missed this week here, and across the web.

My Nuptials: Yours is the Earth

I am, of course, designing my own wedding invites, even though now I'm thinking that might be a bad idea, since I've put a lot of pressure on myself to create the most amazing thing I've ever designed. But if I had gone another route I would have loved one of these wedding invite packages from Yours is the Earth. This design duo creates such quirky and colorful invites, the only problem I might have is decided which one to choose.

My Nuptials: Inspiration

I love the look and feel of this windy New Zealand wedding, shot by Kate Macpherson. It has the low key vintage atmosphere that I hope I can pull off at my own wedding. And is her dress not divine? The details and way it flows in the wind, simple perfection. via Once Wed.

My Nuptials: Twigs & Honey

I'm really loving the romantic, nymph-like quality of the 2012 bridal collection from Twigs & Honey. I'm not sure I'll be wearing a veil for my wedding but if I do I would love to don one of these lovely creations, the only problem is there might be too many beautiful options, I would be plagued with indecision.

My Nuptials: Exciting News!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted about my impending nuptials but I was feeling so overwhelmed with all the decisions. But today I finally booked the venue!! So I guess this is officially happening :) I think now that I know where the wedding is happening, some of the other decisions will kind've slide into place, or at least I hope they do, hehe! Below are a few inspiration images for my venue. images via pinterest

My Nuptials: Texture

Unfortunately today has been one of those crazy whirlwind days where I barely have time to catch my breath. Which means I don't have much time for my usual posting, so I thought I would just post this one image that I keep on being drawn to as wedding inspiration. The beautiful texture and non-traditional color are right up my alley. Also in other wedding news I think we found our venue, which is so super duper exciting, I'll have more on that later.

My Nuptials: Vintage Country Inspiration

I was beyond smitten when I first saw this wedding featured on Once Wed, especially the lovely vintage photography style, the d.i.y. details, the muted tones and how happy the couple clearly are. Awwww I want it all. On another wedding related note I'm trying on dresses for the first time next week and I'm pretty excited, wish me luck! (and yes it's taken me this long to finally get around to doing this)

My Nuptials: Paper Flowers

For anyone who has every planned a wedding or really any event for that matter, you know the flowers are pretty much key. They also tend to be hugely expensive. So I recently was doing some research on paper flowers, which if done right can add such a lovely and unique touch to a wedding. The 1st image in particular I think could be gorgeous as place cards. images 1. via Oh Happy Day 2. via Intimate Weddings 3. via Better Homes & Gardens 4. via Pinterest

My Nuptials: Inspiration

I'm in love with every detail of this wedding. Her dress, which she purchased for $100! The night time outdoor reception that is reminiscent of a Midsummers Night Dream. The beautiful, non-traditional cake display. Her adorable haircut, and of course just how much they clearly love each other. Swoon! via 100 Layer Cake
