Jill De Haan Lettering

One of my favorite elements of the Rue Holiday issue was getting to work with the talented Jill De Haan on the hand-lettered gift guide titles. I love using calligraphy and hand-lettering, it makes everything look so special and more personal, which Jill accomplishes effortlessly. Below are a few of my favorites of hers, but I highly recommend checking out all of her work on her website.

My Nuptials: Invitations

The invitations are going to be quite the project for me, because, along with designing a personal logo, it is probably one of the biggest personal undertakings for a graphic designer. So, that being said I am currently in the phase of collecting invitation inspiration, below are some of my favorites, and I think it's pretty clear that I don't have much of a clear direction yet.

My Nuptials: Concepting

So now that the ring is on my finger and the engagement has been announced, what do I do next? Honestly the reality of planning a wedding is kind've like a black hole of inspiration and spending way too much and sparkle overload. So as a designer I have to break down the look of this wedding, what are the colors and the concept? Because honestly without that this could easily spiral into an explosion of tulle and pink (who knew right?) So this week I've put together the beginning of my concept/inspiration board. In words I would describe it as urban hipster meets casual outdoorsmen with a splash of quirky nerd, but I think I describe it better with the visual below.  See more of my inspirations here

Noble Handcrafted

Ok so I have to admit when I first saw these beautiful bottles for Noble Handcrafted, I thought it was liquor, but it's even better! Or in my mind it is. This stunning packaging design is for homemade flavored maple syrups and vinegars! I want to buy each and every one just to display on my counter, but with flavors such as Tahitian Vanilla Bean & Egyptian Chamomile Blossom I don't' think they would last very long. via lovely package

A Hundred Monkeys

How amazing are these business cards for A Hundred Monkeys designed by Croxton Design? The ticket concept is kind've genius in my mind. via lovely stationary

I can't get over this beautiful type by hungarian designer Aron Jansco and how he used it in the poster. Found over at the always lovely iiiinspired blog.

Bella Figura Letterpress

I'm currently quite enamored by the letterpress work of Bella Figura. Not only is their design work very classic and interesting, their Syracuse NY based workshop is wind-powered, carbon neutral and they donate 1% of all profit to environmental causes! What could be better than that? I can just imagine the perfectly simply holiday card I would have them make for me.

This has to be the most genius amalgamation of two totally cools things ever! Typography and bikes? Gah! it's almost too amazing. More here.
