My Buick Encore

When I was recently approached to partner with Buick for their pinboard to dashboard program to introduce the new Buick Encore I was intrigued but hesitant, because I had not had much experience driving Buicks. But when they showed me the new car which is coming out in 2013 I was instantly smitten. Perfectly designed for a younger urban audience it has great details and is beyond cute. So when they asked me to conceptualize what I would have in mind for my ideal Buick Encore I was so excited to get started putting together a little mood board that epitomizes what the Encore is to me.

Though this post is sponsored by Buick Encore, the opinions shared in this post are 100% my own.

Method Homes

Pre-fab homes kind've have a negative connotation, but if you've flipped through the back section of any Dwell magazine in the past few years you know they now come in some pretty amazing iterations. The units designed by Seattle based Method Homes are no exception. Sustainably built and expertly designed these homes definitely make me rethink pre-fab.

Clementine

I absolutely adore the floral design work of Oakland California based studio, Clementine. They effortlessly accomplish the organic yet cohesive look I just love. I'm definitely going to be drawing inspiration from their work when planning my wedding florals.

Cielito Querido Café

How fun are these interiors? This Mexican coffee shop chain uses such bright and invigorating graphics and colors, which is so perfect for a coffee shop. via ghostlyferns

Outdoor Spaces

It is a beautiful day here today, the sort of day that smells and tastes like spring is coming. It is making me long for those days at the height of summer where you can sit outside drinking a mojito and reading your favorite magazine or book. Any of these spaces would be perfection for that purpose.

Wine Label Envy

Some day I would love to be able to design a wine label, because of the psychology behind why people buy wine, the labels are one the most creative mediums for designers out there. As evidenced by the beautiful and eclectic examples below. (images via The Dieline)

Adorable Automobiles

I adore tiny cars, I found these on Pinterest and just had to share them. If I didn't live in such a snowy climate I might just buy one.

Weekend Project - Holiday Decorating

Although I already decorated my tree last weekend, and spent an exorbitant amount of time making a handmade popcorn and cranberry wreath, I seem to be possessed with holiday spirit and there are a couple more projects I really want to get done. So this weekend my poor boyfriend is again stuck doing sweatshop labor for my dream of the perfect holiday apartment. Below are a couple of d.i.y. projects I found around the web that I hope to tackle. What about you guys have you done any fun holiday projects or seen any cool ones you hope to do? please share I'd love to get more ideas and see what others are doing.

Consolation Prize

I was thinking I could cure my post-election depression by buying myself a shiny new toy, this beautiful Orly Kiely radio seemed like the perfect choice, until I realized it is only sold in Europe. Oh well I guess I'll just have to stare at it while coping with my other source of comfort, food!

Typography Bikes

This has to be the most genius amalgamation of two totally cools things ever! Typography and bikes? Gah! it's almost too amazing. More here.

Lady Grey Jewelry

Lately I've been obsessed with everything geometric, whether it's in a print or an illustration I just go crazy for it, so when I saw the Lady Grey Jewelry featured on one of my favorite blogs, Shiny Squirrel, I was instantly smitten. Their lookbook images are pretty cool as well.

Star Trek

This past weekend we drove down to Chicago to meet up with my boyfriends brother and his girlfriend to have a fun excursion enjoying the city. It was a great weekend with delicious food and good conversation but one of my favorite outings was surprisingly not food related. We decided to go to the Planetarium and watch the Journey to the Stars, it was so amazing and made me wish I was living on the starship Enterprise. After getting home I started googling Hubble telescope images and find myself in awe at how intricate and beautiful each image is, I had to share.

Return

Ok, to say I've been on a long break would be an understatement, but I'm going to try this again and see if I can keep it going. For my first post back I just want to mention these beautiful book covers by Coralie Bickford-Smith. They have been making the rounds on blogosphere but I just couldn't resist showing them as well. They are so simple and striking and I always appreciate a designer who gives the spine just as much love as the rest of the book.

Wall Envy

I'll admit it; I'm obsessed with wallpaper. I stalk wallpaper sites even though as a renter I won't be buying wallpaper anytime soon. I just love the bold patterns and intricate detailing and what that can do to a space. These are some of my current favorites.

Dream Apartment

I wish my apartment looked like any of these rooms. But I should probably work on just keeping it as clean as these rooms, that would probably help.
